Letters to their parents in Old Lyme, Conn., from two brothers, Charles and Edward Willey, in the 26th Regiment of Connecticut Infantry writing of the death of Henry Robbins and the attitude of fellow soldiers toward officers of Afro-American regiments; includes letters from Enoch Noyes that Charles was killed in the charge on Port Hudson, Louisiana and procedures for returning his body to Conn. and a letter from Abraham Willey to his deceased son requesting his spirit to communicate with the family.
